Andheri and Badlapur Railway bridges to shut down for commuters

The bridges will been shut down after BMC and Railways decided to inspect all the bridges in the city. IIT-Bombay has been actively assisting the authorities in the process.

After the unfortunate pedestrian bridge incident between Andheri-Vile Parle station, BMC and Railways had decided to inspect all the bridges in the city. After the inspection, the Lower Parel bridge was declared unfit by IIT-Bombay for pedestrians and they sent a proposal to the BMC to close the bridge. After which, the civic body shut down the bridge for use.

Similarly, the MCGM bridge near the Andheri railway station and the Badlapur station bridge will also be closed on basis of an inspection report.


Andheri Bridge to be shut down for 90 days

The bridge near Western Railway’s Andheri station will be kept closed from August 6 to November 3. The repair work of the bridge will be conducted during the tenure. Thus, the commuters will have to use Andheri’s northern bridge.


Badlapur bridge closed for a month 

Central Railway has decided to shut down the pedestrian bridge connecting Platform Number One, Two and Three. The bridge will be closed from August 9 to September 8 and the pedestrians have been asked to use other alternatives.
