The most awaited and the final stretch of Hinduhrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Expressway was inaugurated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis Thursday afternoon, June 5.

The 76 kilometres, between Igatpuri to Amane in Thane district, was opened with a grand ceremony attended by Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde, along with senior project officials.

With this, it will now allow motorists to cover the distance from Nagpur to Thane in just eight hours тАФ a significant cut from the earlier 16-hour journey.

This marks the completion of the ambitious 701-kilometre, six-lane access-controlled expressway that connects Mumbai and Nagpur.

Toll Charges

Toll rates for the final stretch are yet to be officially announced, but they will align with the revised rates from April. The current rates are:


  • Rs 2.06 per km for light motor vehicles
  • Rs 3.32 per km for light commercial vehicles
  • Rs 6.97 per km for heavy vehicles with two axles
  • Rs 7.60 per km for heavy vehicles with three axles
  • Rs 10.93 per km for heavy construction machinery
  • Rs 13.30 per km for oversized vehicles with seven or more axles

This expressway, often referred to as the "growth corridor" of Maharashtra, aims to redefine connectivity and economic development in the state.
