The much-awaited Mumbai Metro Line 3 (Aqua Line) for Mumbaikars was opened for passengers on Thursday. However, many people started facing problems in booking tickets online within the first few hours.

As a solution to this problem, Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has launched a convenient option for ticket booking for passengers, which is ticket booking through WhatsApp!

Now passengers do not need to stand in queues. Tickets for Mumbai Metro 3 can be booked directly through WhatsApp.

MMRC has given a QR code and WhatsApp number in its official social media post. Through this, passengers can easily book tickets by sending just a Hi message.

According to the information given by MMRC, passengers can book tickets on WhatsApp number +91 9873016836. Along with this, a QR code has also been made available.

Tickets can be booked through Whatsapp number and QR code as follows:

1. Send a message like Hi to the given number or scan the QR code.

2. The chatbot will welcome you and show you the options.

3. Select the Buy Ticket option there.

4. Fill in the journey details, starting and ending stations, number of passengers (up to a maximum of 6), and select the single or return ticket option.

5. Check the details of the information provided and confirm. If necessary, you can make changes by clicking on Edit Your Journey.

6. If the information provided is correct, click on Pay Now, after which you will automatically be taken to the Zapkey page, where you can make the payment through UPI or card. You will get 5 minutes to complete the payment.

7. After the payment is successful, you will immediately receive a QR ticket on your mobile, which can be scanned and accessed at the metro station.

Apart from WhatsApp, passengers can also book tickets through the Metro Connect 3 and Metro One apps. Both the apps are available on Google Play Store and Apple iOS. Ticket and pass booking facilities are also available.

However, the process of updating these apps for the new phase of Metro Line 3 is underway. Mumbai Metro management aims to make ticketing completely digital.

WhatsApp ticketing facility is already available for Lines 2A and 7 and the number for it is 8652635500.
