A Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) official said that the work of manufacturing the bearings for the Sion flyover is in progress. They will procure them by the second or third week of June, after which the bridge will be closed for traffic while they carry out the replacement.

Notably, traffic diversion plan to prevent traffic during the construction has been submitted to the traffic police and will be approved within two weeks.

After a cement slab fell from the Sion Flyover on the road in March, an urgent need was felt to carry the construction work of the flyover.
