Mumbai - The beauty of flyovers across the city is being defaced due to illegal parking spaces and the temporary shelter of a number of homeless people under it. But this would not be the case as far as flyover near Milan Subway is concerned. The space under this flyover is to be beautified soon and this beautified space will be made available for the senior citizens. After completing the beautification of a flyover in Matunga, this work will be taken up soon. The Milan Subway flyover comes under the jurisdiction of K-East and H-East wards. The security fencing will be raised around this space and a garden would be created here. The pathways and benches for senior citizens will be constructed and columns under the flyover will be painted creatively. The contractor for this work has been selected and the BMC has allocated Rs 77 lakh for this work, informed standing committee chairman Yashodhar Phanse.
Besides this, the Gandhi Nagar flyover in S Ward will also be beautified. The security wall, internal pathways, development of rock garden, sitting arrangements for senior citizens etc will be done under this flyover. The CCTV cameras will also be installed there, informed Phanse.
