State government approves INR 28 crores for Kalyan Rural Tourism Development

The government has allocated a fund of INR 28 crores to the district administration for the work of developing the hilly, scenic areas of the rural areas of Kalyan Lok Sabha constituency as tourist destinations. MP Dr. Srikant Shinde said that this will boost the development of tourism places in Kalyan rural areas and employment.


Development of bird sanctuary at Davadi near Dombivli in Kalyan Lok Sabha constituency, Umbarli hill area of Bhal area, development of Shiva temple at Kamba Pavshet, renovation of Durgadi fort, beautification of lake at Kamba will be done from this fund.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena's Pramod Patil had been following up with the government for the last three years for the development of a bird sanctuary at Umbarli hill in Bhal area of his Kalyan rural constituency, and development of biodiversity park in this area. Funds have been made available for the development of Kalyan rural tourism due to the follow up of these two representatives. New settlements are coming up in Malanggad, Palawa, Shilphata area. Tourism Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha approved this fund immediately, thinking that the residents of this area should have a place nearby for entertainment.

A fund of INR 10 crores has been approved for the development of Malanggad. From this fund, it has been planned to improve the steps leading to the mountain, to have protected rocks. These works are in progress. A fund of INR 5 crores has been approved for the development of Durgadi Fort. Fort repair and beautification works will be done from this fund.


Pramod Patil was pursuing the government to develop a bird sanctuary and biodiversity park on Umbarli hill. A fund of five crores has been made available for this work. Every day hundreds of citizens go for a walk on Umbarli hill. During the monsoons, this area becomes scenic with thick greenery. Many bird lovers camp here. Villagers have expressed their satisfaction for getting funds for the development of tourist places and religious places in rural areas.
