With an aim for women empowerment, Secretary to the Governor of Maharashtra, Dr. Prashant Narnaware, has urged women students across state universities to register actively on the Stree Shakti App under the Swayamsiddha Initiative.

He emphasized awareness campaigns in urban and rural areas, voter education in collaboration with SNDT Women’s University and the State Election Commission, and women’s participation in sports, including football teams under the Mahadeva Project. Success stories from the initiative will be shared widely to inspire greater involvement.

A meeting regarding the Swayamsiddha Initiative was held via video conferencing at 'Lok Bhawan', chaired by Governor's Secretary Dr. Prashant Narnaware. Governor's Deputy Secretary Ram Murthy, Joint Director (Vice-Chancellor) Vikas Kulkarni from Lok Bhawan, and representatives from the State Public Universities implementing the Swayamsiddha Initiative participated in the meeting via video conferencing.

Secretary Dr. Prashant Narnaware said that the 'Swayamsiddha' initiative is being implemented for the empowerment of women as per the Governor's guidance. Many women members have already registered for these activities and on the web portal. These women should also register on the Stree Shakti app.

Secretary Dr. Prashant Narnaware further stated that regular meetings of Swayamsiddha women officers of every State Public University should be held, and the activities being undertaken should be published on their portal as well as on each student's personal Swayamsiddha media platform. Women should be actively involved in implementing various activities under the Swayamsiddha initiative. As per the MoU signed by Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women's University (SNDT) with the Maharashtra State Election Commission, Swayamsiddha students should conduct maximum publicity under the 'SVEEP' initiative being implemented in this election and provide detailed information to women about their right to vote. For this, more and more awareness activities should be conducted in urban and rural areas. Women should be given detailed information about their right to vote. The hashtag 'Women Empowerment' should be used for the Election Commission's 'SVEEP' initiative, and this initiative should be promoted and publicized as widely as possible.
