Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray recently held a meeting at the Sahyadri Guest House under the chairmanship of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister Sunil Kedar in order to discuss developmental work that is to be conducted in the Aarey colony.

The meeting was held at the request of former Minister of State MLA Ravindra Vaikar. MLA Sunil Prabhu, Principal Secretary of Forest Department Milind Mhaiskar, Additional Commissioner of Mumbai Municipal Corporation Ashwini Bhide, Dairy Commissioner Dr H. P. Tummod Adi were also present on the occasion.

According to sources, construction, maintenance, and repair work of internal roads in the Aarey colony were the subject matter of the discussion. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is to further the developmental work of the small parks in the colony which attracts the citizens of Mumbai. Moreover, the officials informed that a proposal has been submitted to the state government for the development of four parks in the colony.

On the other hand, in a government resolution issued on Tuesday, May 18, a five-member committee has been appointed headed by Madhav Kale, director of planning and transport of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC), to recommend how the government can monetise the land and raise funds for its various projects in the Aarey colony.

Furthermore, the committee has been mandated to prepare a policy for implementing projects on a build-operate-transfer basis on land owned by the department.
