The Supreme Court is said to hear the plea for extending the time limit for the exchange of 500 and 1000 rupee notes in July. The petitioners during the hearing stated that he has not got the copy of the affidavit yet, hence the hearing should be postponed. At first, the Court asked to discuss the matter with the petitioner, but later on, it ended up postponing the hearing.
The Central government, on the other hand, has stated that it is practically not possible to file separate reply for every petition that has been filed. It is therefore for the court to decide that whether or not a second chance can be given to the general citizens to deposit the old currency notes.
