Vikhroli - The municipal corporation’s sweepers from Powai, Vikhroli, Nahur and Bhandup, working on contract basic, staged ‘stop work’ agitation. This has resulted into creating heaps of garbage in the area. They were protesting for not getting the Diwali bonus and other pending dues. The civic body has given contracts to some organisations for lifting garbage from the area. These organisations are paid on regular basis but these bodies do not pay their contract workers. The enraged employees staged their protest at Tagore Nagar civic office in Vikhroli.
