The Maharashtra state government would bear an additional expense of ₹1,241 crore in order to assist the teachers to receive the benefits of the Seventh Pay Commission
Teachers of state government schools or the government-assisted schools will soon be given the benefit of the Seventh Pay Commission. More than 29,264 teachers will receive the benefits of the Pay Commission. For the same, the Maharashtra government would have to bear an additional expense of ₹1,241 crore in order to assist the teachers to receive the commission’s proposed benefits.
As the Lok Sabha elections in the country are drawing closer, the government has made various announcements for the betterment of the general public. Amongst the several announcements, the Central Government introduced the inclusion of state government teachers as the beneficiaries of the Seventh Pay Commission.
Alongside, the Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar implied that from the upcoming academic year, the economically-backward citizens will receive ten per cent reservation in schools across the country.
The central government will reimburse 50 per cent of total additional expenditure (January 1, 2016, and March 31, 2019) to be incurred by these institutes for the payment of arrears on account of 7th Central Pay Commission implementation.
