On Monday, minimum and maximum temperatures dipped further in the city where India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) observatory recorded a minimum temperature of 16.8 degrees Celsius, 2 degrees lower than normal. The temperature is being considered the lowest this season.

Colaba observatory recorded a minimum of 20 degrees, 1.2 degrees below normal. On Sunday morning, minimum temperature recorded at Santacruz was 17 degrees. Maximum temperature was lower than normal on Sunday. On Monday, the maximum temperature at Santacruz was 30.8 degrees, which was 1.5 degrees below normal, while the minimum in Colaba was 30.2 degrees, which was 1.9 degrees below normal.

K S Hosalikar, Deputy Director General of Meteorology, Regional Meteorological Centre, Mumbai, said that minimum and maximum temperatures are steadily declining and this is due to the low-level northerly winds over Mumbai and North Maharashtra. He added that the temperature is expected to dip further in the next 48 hours.
