Since Diwali has started, huge rush is anticipated in Thane markets from Friday to Sunday. To avoid congestion due to this rush from the markets of the main city, the traffic police have made strong preparations. 


Additional police security has been beefed up at Ram Maruti Road, Gokhale Road, Market in the main city since Thursday and action is being taken against motorists who park their vehicles on the side of the road recklessly. The Chamber of Commerce has also provided transport assistants to help the police. The area is being patrolled by the police. If there is a traffic jam at a place, the staff is available immediately and efforts are being made to solve the traffic jam. 


On the occasion of Diwali, citizens from various parts of Thane city visit Jamblinaka, Main Market, Ram Maruti Road in Naupada, Gokhale Road to buy goods. This year there is a big rush to buy in the market. There is a possibility that the crowd of people coming for shopping will increase in the next three days. Therefore, Thane Police has started deploying police personnel at crowded intersections to avoid traffic jams. A few days ago, the Thane Police held a meeting of the office bearers of the Board of Trade.

The Board of Trade has since provided some transport aids to assist the police. So these traffic assistants are helping the police. Along with this, one officer and four to five employees will be stationed at the main square here.


In case of traffic jams, information is often given by citizens on social media. Therefore, social media will also be monitored by the police personnel in the control room. In case of a traffic jam at a place, the control room staff will immediately inform the staff available in that section. So it will be possible to take action at that place. Also, during the night time, the police are keeping a watchful eye through the patrol vehicle. The staff of the police station of the concerned department is also patrolling the places to prevent theft incidents.
