Residents affected by the SATIS flyover project in New Indiranagar area of Kopri division in Thane have finally received relief, with alternative housing provided to displaced families.
The rehabilitation process was undertaken following consistent efforts by local leaders and directives prioritising the concerns of residents. As part of the arrangement, eligible families have been allotted alternative homes in areas including Acme, Khevara Circle, and Manpada.
A formal key distribution ceremony was held at Anandashram in Tembhi Naka, where MP Naresh Mhaske and Mayor Sharmila Pimplolkar handed over keys to the affected residents. In the first phase, keys were distributed to 10 beneficiaries by the MP, while the remaining residents received their allotments from the mayor and other local representatives.
The New Indiranagar area had witnessed anxiety among residents following action taken by the railway administration in connection with the project. Local representatives, including municipal officials and corporators, worked to ensure rehabilitation and secure alternative housing for the affected families.
Authorities stated that continuous follow-up with the administration helped facilitate the allocation of housing in Khevara Circle and other designated locations.
Residents expressed gratitude after receiving their new homes, marking a significant step in resolving rehabilitation concerns linked to the project.
