On Tuesday, March 8 a fire was reported to have broken out at a scrap godown in Maharashtra's Thane. The godown was located near the HP petrol pump on the Shilphata-Mahape road, reported news agency ANI.

According to the report, presently fire tenders are at the spot, at the same time, no injuries have been reported.
In other developments, on Tuesday a fire also broke out at two paper godowns on Mumbra - Panvel in Thane. Fire tenders were present at the spot and fire fighting operations were underway. Apart from this, no injuries or casualties reported, cited accounts.
Earlier a fire had erupted in a furniture godown in the Bhiwandi area of Thane district on January 28. The fire then spread to three more godowns in Sumaras Chamunda Complex. The blaze erupted around 1.40 am in the shop located at Chamunda complex on old Bhiwandi road, near Kasheli creek, reports stated.
