Thane: TMC Commissioner orders to investigate the road sliding incident at Sant Dnyaneshwar Path

Road sliding incident took place on June 7 on the road in front of Talwalkar Gym on Sant Dnyaneshwar Path under Thane Municipal Uthalsar Ward Committee area. Thane Municipal Commissioner (TMC) Abhijit Bangar has directed the concerned officials to investigate the works of this road.


The work on Sant Dnyaneshwar Path was done through UTWT format in the last 3 years. However, it was noticed that this road was washed away. Taking immediate notice of this, the Commissioner ordered to send a team to inspect the said road and investigate the related incident.

The commissioner, instructed to conduct core cutting of the said roads in the presence of experts from IIT Bombay, gave instructions to conduct a strength test of the core cutting concrete box through the team of IIT-B. So that the quality of road work can be ascertained. Since the said road is during the Defect Liability period, the work of restoring the said road should be done quickly through the concerned contractor.


After receiving the report from the IIT team, if any errors are found regarding the quality of work on this road, the responsibility will be fixed on the concerned contractors and action will be taken against the concerned, mentioned Bangar.
