On Monday, a woman who was 40 years old, lost her life, after a fire broke in a house in the town of Diva in the Shilphata area of the Thane district. According to reports, the woman has been identified as Sapana Patil.

Based on accounts, officials from the Thane Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) elaborated on how the fire began at nearly 11.30 am on Monday at Vetal Pada, Padle Gaon, Diva. Owing to the fire, a wall collapsed. People from the fire and disaster management departments went to the area and began the rescue operations.

Patil is believed to have been stuck under the debris of the structure. Whilst she was rescued and taken to a hospital, she was, however, proclaimed dead.

A report by the Indian Express quoted, Santosh Kadam, Thane RDMC chief who elucidated now how one fire engine, one water tanker, as well as, a rescue vehicle was utilized to extinguish the fire. Adding that Patil’s body was given to the Daighar police officials. Moreover, the condition is now under control.

Additionally, another official elucidated that they were undertaking an operation to determine whether anyone else was stuck below the debris.

The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) added that the RDMC, TDRF, Police and the fire brigade are on the site, thus the rescue operations are ongoing.
