The death toll in Andheri’s ESIC Kamgar Hospital fire incident, which left 142 people injured, has increased to 13. A 78-year-old man from Kurla and a 65-year-old woman from Saki Naka died on Thursday. Both of the deceased were admitted to ESIC Kamgar hospital when a massive fire broke out at the hospital. 

The deceased – Vitthal Pakhare and Idna Khatoon - were being treated at Riddhi Vinayak Critical Care in Malad. The doctors informed that Pakhare had an additional complex heart condition. The 75-year-old man was admitted to ESIC due to difficulty in breathing. After the incident, Pakhare was admitted to Seven Hills Hospital and later, was shifted to Riddhi Vinayak Critical Care.

Idna Khatoon had brain haemorrhage and was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at ESIC hospital. After the incident, she was moved to Seven Hill Hospital where surgery was performed on her. However, Khatoon faced another complication and was shifted to Riddhi Vinayak Critical Care on January 4.
