"These" Routes Between Mumbai and Thane Closed For Next 2 Days!

Owing to the commencement of iron girder laying work, several roads connecting Mumbai and Thane will remain closed for four days from October 13 to 16.

This work will take place from Anandnagar Signal to Hypercity Mall, Waghbeel Bridge, Ghodbunder Road in Thane city. Therefore, the Ghodbunder road channel from Thane will be closed for traffic.

Accordingly, Deputy Commissioner of Police Dattatray Kamble of Thane City Traffic Department has announced a blanket shut on movement of vehicles on these routes and also suggested alternatives for motorists to avoid inconvenience. He also informed that the said traffic control notification will not be applicable to police vehicles, fire brigade, ambulance, green corridor, oxygen gas vehicles and other essential service vehicles. Metro girder has been closed for transportation.

In addition, heavy vehicles going towards Ghodbunder Road on the Mumbai-Nashik highway are being stopped at Kapurbawadi Junction.

What are the alternate routes?

a) Heavy vehicles going towards Ghodbunder Road from Mumbai to Thane will take a right turn near Kapurbawadi Traffic Branch and proceed to the desired destination via Kasheli, Kharegaon Toll Naka, Mankoli, Anjurphata.

b) Entry Closed – All heavy, heavy vehicles going towards Ghodbunder Road from Mumbra, Kalwa are being closed at Kharegaon Toll Naka. Alternate Route – All vehicles going towards Ghodbunder Road from Mumbra, Kalwa will go via Gammon via Kharegaon Khadi Bridge under Kharegaon Toll Naka, Mankoli, Anjurphata to the desired destination.

c) Entry Closed – All heavy, heavy vehicles going from Nashik towards Ghodbunder Road are closed at Mankoli Naka. Alternate Route – All vehicles going from Nashik towards Ghodbunder Road will take a right turn under Mankoli Bridge and proceed via Anjurphata. (Vehicles other than heavy ones will take a left turn near Anandnagar signal cut at the time of placing the girders and then take a right turn near Hypercity Mall cut along the service road and proceed to the desired destination on the main road).

Timings for placing girders on October 15 and 16, 2022 will be at 23.55 hrs upto 04.00 am.

This notification shall remain in force till the completion of the girders during the above mentioned period.
