In order to celebrate this year's Ganeshotsav in an eco-friendly way, the Thane Municipal Corporation is organising an eco-friendly Ganeshotsav 2024 exhibition in Thane from Saturday July 27 at TMC School No. 19 Vishnu Nagar, Thane. The exhibition will be inaugurated at 5.00 pm by MP Naresh Mhaske and in the presence of dignitaries from Thane. Thane Municipal Commissioner Saurabh Rao has appealed to as many citizens as possible to visit this exhibition.
The state government has directed to celebrate Ganeshotsav in an environment-friendly manner with a view to preserving the environment. In this background, Thane Municipal Corporation has taken up the initiative of eco-friendly Ganeshotsav 2024. Ganesha idol made from eco-friendly materials, 10 feet tall replica of Siddhivinayak temple made of cardboard and grand Makhar with replica of Kedarnath temple will be the special attraction of this activity. Other decorative materials will also be displayed and sold in this exhibition.
Along with this, Ganesh idols made by sculptors from different parts of Maharashtra from shadu soil, eco red soil, cow chip, cardboard as well as paper pulp and eco-friendly colours etc will be the attraction of this festival. Attractive options of decorations made from eco-friendly materials will be available as well.
Various awareness programs have been organised during the festival and there will be a seminar by experts on 'Environmental Festival - Need of Time', workshops for citizens to make clay Ganesha idols by expert sculptors, training in making decorative materials from paper and cardboard, painting competition for school students and various cultural programs will be held.
Chief Environment Officer Manisha Pradhan informed that a selfie point has also been made available at this place for Selfie with Bappa. The said exhibition will be open for citizens till August 4, 2024 from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm.
