Anti-encroachment team of Thane Municipal Corporation and Ward Committee jointly took action on 07 in Diva, 02 in Mumbra, 02 in Kalwa and two unauthorised constructions in Majiwada-Manpada area. Also, a total of 19 unauthorised taps were disconnected from the main water channel in the Diva area.
As per the directives of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, a strike campaign has been undertaken against unauthorised constructions. Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar has given instructions to completely evict the unauthorised constructions.
In the Diva area, MS Compound - DP Road area, the third floor of one building and the second floor of another building were demolished. A slab on the third floor of a six-storey partially occupied building at Diva East Shlok Nagar was broken. Also, the stairs were demolished. In this area, the ground floor of the unauthorised building in front of Aarti Apartment was broken. The stairs of a partially occupied six-storey unauthorised building in Sitaram Patil Nagar were demolished. Also, an unauthorised piling near St. Mary's School was demolished. Unauthorised slab, pillar removed in Rana Nagar area of Mumbra. Basement and one storey RCC construction in Tanwar Nagar Complex was completely removed.
In the Kumbhar Ali area of Kalwa, RCC slabs for the ground floor and centring and steel constructions erected for the second floor slabs were removed. The 3rd and 4th floor slabs near the Vltava Bay were demolished, as well as the internal brickwork of the 4th floor. RCC second and third floor slabs and columns were broken at Majiwada village in Majiwada-Manpada area. Also, action was taken against four unauthorised gangs at Ovala Naka.
19 unauthorised connections terminated
A total of 19 unauthorised tap connections at Shlok Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Ansh Nagar in Diva were disconnected from the main water channel. In this operation, two motor pumps, eight pipes of 25 mm and 60 metres were seized by the water supply department.
