The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) will be finalising the urban renewal plan (URP) for the first four clusters by December after missing the October deadline of starting work on the first cluster.
The four clusters of Kopri, Kisan Nagar, Lokmanya Nagar, and Rabodi will be developed on a priority basis and as model clusters. In the month of December, urban renewal plans will be sent for an approval to the general body.

On Thursday, TMC commissioner Sanjeev Jaiswal conducted a meeting to discuss measures to expedite the cluster scheme. Along with this, a high-power committee meeting is also scheduled in December to discuss the basic facilities which will be provided for each of the four clusters.
According to the officials, around 23 per cent area will be developed under the four clusters which will be developed as model clusters.
