The rates of five toll plazas of Mumbai are set to increase between 12-18 per cent from October 1 . The five toll nakas are Vashi, Mulund (LBS Road), Mulund (Eastern Express Highway), Dahisar, Airoli Creek Bridge.

Toll fee hike usually occur every three years. The last increase in toll rates took place in 2020. This is the second last toll hike for those crossing the toll points regularly.

What will be the price after hike?

The single way toll for light motor vehicles or passenger cars will be hiked by INR 5, i.e from INR 40 to INR 45. For mini buses, the toll will be up by INR 10 from the current INR 65 to INR 75.

Similarly, for trucks and mini buses will have to pay INR 150, while multi-axle vehicles will be charged INR 190, shows a state government notification.

These revised prices will continue till 2026. Accordingly, the next hike will be applicable from October 1, 2026.

Although the toll levy will discontinue at Dahisar, LBS Road–Mulund, Eastern Express Highway–Mulund and Airoli Creek Bridge after 2026, the same will continue at Vashi to recover construction costs of the new Thane Creek Bridge. Additionally, Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, which is yet to commence, will also attract a toll.

They also took a dig at the ruling government stating that BJP had made tall promises of toll-free Maharashtra before elections and huge hoardings were put up instead the prices are increased.
