No entry for heavy vehicles on Panvel-Sindhudurg National Highway during Ganeshotsav

In view of the arrival of Ganesh idols for Ganeshotsav, immersion of Ganesha idols, immersion of Gauri Ganpati, vehicles with carrying capacity of 16 tonnes or more have been banned on National Highway No. 66 from Panvel to Sindhudurg. 


According to the provisions of Section 155 of the Motor Vehicles Act 1988, on National Highway No. 66 from Panvel to Sindhudurg via Pen, Wadkhal, Nagothane, Kolad, Indapur, Mahad, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar, Rajapur, Kanwakali, Kudal, Sawantwadi no heavy vehicles will be allowed.

As part of the preparation journey for Ganeshotsav, there will be a restriction for heavy vehicles from 12:00 midnight on September 16 to 11:30 pm on September 20. In view of 5 and 7 days Ganesh Visarjan, Gauri Ganpati Visarjan, heavy vehicles will not be allowed between September 23, 8:00 pm and 11:00 pm on September 25. For Anant Chaturdashi Ganesh Visarjan, September 28 from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm on September 29, 2023, heavy vehicles will not be allowed.


Apart from this, vehicles having a carrying capacity of 16 tonnes or more than 16 tonnes will be allowed to enter the highway from 11:00 pm on September 20 to 8:00 am on September 23. Also, there will be regular movement of all vehicles after 8:00 pm on September 29.
