Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had given orders to various authorities to make Greater Mumbai pothole-free before monsoon. Following which, all the authorities have started the repair works of main and internal roads. Its impact has started to show and the problem of traffic congestion in this area has become worse. In Greater Mumbai, there is more traffic of heavy vehicles in the afternoon. It is not possible for the employees to reach the workplace on time. Due to the intense summer season, motorists are suffering.

Thane city has roads that go towards Mumbai Nashik Highway, Mumbra Bypass. These roads get potholes every year during monsoon. Therefore, Thanekars have to face problems after the traffic increases. To avoid this problem in the coming monsoon, Chief Minister Shinde had ordered various authorities to repair the roads in Greater Mumbai before the monsoon. Therefore, for about a month now, the public works department has been working on the repair of the Mumbra Bypass. Mumbra Bypass was completely closed for that. There is heavy traffic of heavy vehicles going towards Bhiwandi, Gujarat from Uran JNPT via Mumbra Bypass.

Due to the closure of the external bypass, the entry of these heavy vehicles is prohibited at Shilphata and these vehicles are diverted to Patni, Airoli toll road, East Expressway. During the afternoon, the load of these heavy vehicles has started to increase on this route. So, the work of Kharegaon creek bridge in Saket is also going on for two days by the State Road Development Corporation. There are a total of four tier bridges and the road is being repaired in phases. Due to these two works, the traffic of vehicles on the Thane-Belapur road, East Expressway, Mankoli in Bhiwandi, Kasheli-Kalher road in the city has started to become a problem. It takes drivers one and half an hour for an half-hour journey.
