One dies as a tree branch falls on a running auto rickshaw

A tree branch fell on the running auto-rickshaw at Mulund, killing two people and injuring one.



Around 2:18 pm on Tuesday, an auto rickshaw was passing by Mulund’s Guru Govind Singh road when a tree branch fell on the running auto-rickshaw near Maharashtra Bank. The impact was such that the auto driver got critically injured and two passengers are reported to be dead. The injured were taken to the nearby Agrawal Hospital.


Past tree falling incidents

On July 16, Monday, around 3:00 pm, a huge tree fell on Prashant Damble (26), a Majiwada resident, who escaped with minor injuries on his back. During the incident, two cars, a tempo, and a two-wheeler were damaged. After the incident, he was rushed to a private hospital and is now undergoing treatment. 

Likewise, a month ago, one such incident took place near Metro Cinema around 6:00 pm, M. G. Road where a tree fell down killing one and injuring the other four. Of these, one was admitted to G T Hospital in a critical condition, who later succumbed to his injuries.  

Last year, on July 22, 2017, a similar incident was reported in Panchpakadi, where 38-year-old advocate Kishore Pawar lost his life.
