An official was quoted in an account by the PTI, on Monday, March 28 stating that the Mumbai Police arrested a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) engineer and a JCB machine driver in regard to the death of a four-year-old boy in a house collapse. 

According to the report, six people including an infant were injured in the mishap that transpired on Saturday, March 26 in Kandivali's Lalji Pada. Reportedly, the BMC's maintenance department was undertaking some road work in the R-South ward. 

Based on accounts, the four-year-old boy named Naushad Ali was declared dead on arrival at a hospital. The official in the narrative elaborated on the JCB machine hit the ground-plus-one floor structure during the work. 

It has been reported that the Mumbai Police arrested Arvind Gosawi, the site engineer. Apart from him, they also arrested the JCB driver on Sunday, March 27. 

The official further elucidated how a case was registered against both as well as the work contractor, who is claimed to be absconding in the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Code Section 304. 

Those injured in the incident include two women and one infant, identified as three-month-old Dilshad Shah, Shahidunissa Rain, 30, Mohmmad Ansar, 16, Hasina Shah, 22 and Prema Yadav, 38.
