Mumbai witnessed heavy rainfall since the last few days, where many lives were lost in the city due to multiple incidents. 

In another unfortunate event, two people lost their lives in Malad Subway, as they got locked in their car. As per reports, Malad residents, Gulshad Mohammad Ali Shaikh (35) and Irfan Shahnawaz Khan (38) were out on a drive in their Scorpio, which their car got stuck in a water-logged subway. It is being said that they died due to suffocation, despite trying to escape. They tried opening the doors and windows of the vehicle but it failed due to the water pressure. Nearby locals then pulled the car out of the water, and both were taken to the hospital for post mortem.

Waterlogging is a major concern in the city, and Mumbaikars have been facing concerns over many years now. Despite a budget being allocated for the same, it is important that the government takes measures to improve the situation.

In other reported events, walls have collapsed in Malad East and Kalyan, where many lives were lost. The rescue operation is being performed to remove the people from the debris.
