In an incident reported on Friday, May 29, 2021, a total of six people lost their lives in Ulhasnagar when the slab of a residential building collapsed in the night. Apart from this, it is being speculated that at least three to four people may still be trapped inside the building.
The building in questions is Sai Shakti building, which is a ground-plus-five structure and is situated in the Thane district's Ulhasnagar. The slab from the fifth floor came crashing down to the ground floor and 8-9 people were stuck in the debris. The fire department and a team from TDRF rushed to the spot and helped in taking out people that were trapped under the debris.
Six people were pronounced dead by the doctors after they were pulled out. These people have been identified as Punit Chandwani, Dinesh Chandwani, Dipak Chandwani, Mohini Chandwani, Krushna Bajaj and Amrita Bajaj.

Update: As per news agency ANI, six bodies have been recovered till now. The death count in the incident now stands revised.
A similar incident had also happened on May 15, 2021. This incident took place in the afternoon and five people had lost their life then too.
