The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has expanded its citizen service network in Mumbai by opening a new Aadhaar Service Centre in the suburban area of Sakinaka. The opening of this centre is another step by UIDAI to improve access to Aadhaar-related services in densely populated urban areas. Officials said the new facility is expected to ease the pressure on existing centres and provide residents with easier and faster services.
The Aadhaar Service Centre was inaugurated by a senior UIDAI official, Captain Lavkesh Thakur, Deputy Director General of the UIDAI Regional Office, Mumbai. Senior officials from the UIDAI Regional Office, representatives from the service partner Protean, and local residents were present at the event. The event emphasized the coordination between UIDAI and its partners to ensure the efficient delivery of identity services at the grassroots level.

The newly opened centre will offer a wide range of Aadhaar services in a user-friendly environment. These include new Aadhaar enrolments, demographic updates, biometric updates, and adult enrolment services. Citizens can book appointments through the official UIDAI process, while walk-in services may also be available as per guidelines. This aims to ensure that no eligible resident is deprived of timely access to Aadhaar services.
