In an unfortunate incident, a 29-year-old man died after drowning at Bandra Bandstand, Mumbai. The deceased was recognised to be a Bihar resident and was spotted drowning at around 4:35 pm. The incident comes after the Maharashtra government had ordered the officials to close the entrance to all the beaches for public use throughout the state due to Cyclone Vayu. Therefore, questions are being raised about the security of people.

Earlier, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rains due to cyclone Vayu approaching at the speed of over 110 km/hr in the coastal areas of Saurashtra peninsula on June 13 and June 14.

Meanwhile, as the authorities found him drowning, they immediately rushed him to Bhabha Hospital, Hill Road. However, the doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Yesterday, the wind speed was recorded at around 40 knots in morning hours i.e. around 70 kmph between 11:30 am to 12.00 pm. After which, MbPT (Bombay port trust) stopped operations of bigger vessels.
