The supply of vegetables has increased in the APMC market situated in Vashi, Navi Mumbai. As a result, vegetable prices have reduced suddenly. According to reports, the prices of vegetables have come down due as vegetables are not being exported at present.
On the contrary, the supply of vegetables increases in winter every year. As a result, the market prices of wholesale vegetables have come down. At present, 600 vegetable carts have arrived in the market.
The reduced prices of vegetables
Cabbage - ₹6 per kg
Flower - ₹8 per kg
Pumpkin - ₹10 per kg
Cucumber - ₹8 per kg
Snake Gourd - ₹12 per kg
Elephant Yam or Suran - ₹10 per kg
Tomatoes - ₹15 per kg
Eggplant/Brinjal - ₹15 per kg
Carley - ₹22 per kg
French Beans - ₹25 per kg
Ladies’s finger/ Okra - ₹20 per kg
Green beans - ₹20 per kg
Green Peas - ₹18 to 22 per kg
On average, about 50 to 60 carts of peas are coming in the market on daily basis. Hence, peas have also become cheaper. However, in the next few days, consumers will get most of the vegetables at lower prices. This has brought a sigh of relief among the vendors, and the customers too.
