Post the redevelopment of the Pali Hill market in Mumbai, several vendors have refused to occupy it stating poor ventilation issues amongst other things.

As per reports, the project to redevelop the Pali Hill market has faced many roadblocks in the past. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, vendors have stated that the work on the building is incomplete. Moreover, they claim that they are being threatened that their licenses will be cancelled if they fail to occupy the galas by the end of this year. In addition, vendors have complained that the developer had promised park space and space to load and unload, however, that has not been given as well.

Meanwhile, Dinesh Gupta, secretary, Pali Market Shopkeepers Association, in response to the allegations and the demands not being met has stated that the Municipal Chief Iqbal Singh Chahal, local corporator Asif Zakaria and Vinayak Vispute, the assistant commissioner had visited the municipal market earlier. He further added that the problem is with the vendors who are refusing to shift inside the market.
