On Friday morning, around 9:30 am, a railway compound wall collapsed near platform No. 1 at Kurla Railway station, injuring four. The wall is located at Kurla’s (W) Haryanawala lane and is 20-feet tall.

According to the residents, they had complained about the wall as it had leaned on one side but nothing was done about it. Also, when the wall collapsed, there were people present at the paan shop, which is along the wall.

Among the injured was the pan shop owner - Aamir Sheikh - who has suffered a head injury and is reported to be in critical condition. He has been taken to KEM Hospital, Parel, while other three people Lakhan Khatal (29), Lakshman Patil (50), and Mohammed Pantoji (30) who suffered leg injuries, who have been admitted to Bhabha Hospital in Bandra.
