Mumbai – Maharashtra Parit Seva Mandal and Arakshan Kruti Samiti jointly staged a day-long agitation at Azad Maidan on Friday to press for their various demands.
A large number of agitators from all over the state had gathered in the city for this agitation. The main demands of the agitators were the inclusion of washermen community in the Scheduled Caste category, subsidy in electricity rates, celebrating the birth anniversary of Sant Gadge Maharaj in government and semi-government offices, etc.
State president Suresh Nashikkar, Eknath Borse and many other office-bearers of the agitating bodies led the agitation.
