The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced 24-hour water cut in several parts of Mumbai from Tuesday, May 31.

Due to work on water mains, supply in Kandivali, Borivali, Dahisar and Malad will be affected from Tuesday, May 31 and Wednesday, June 1.

According to a statement released by the BMC, the work of making 1800 mm dia. W.M x 1500 mm dia W.M cross-connection at Lokhandwala Township, Kandivali (East) and the work of Shifting/Diversion of 1800 mm dia. water in Kandivali (East) will be undertaken.

This work will commence May 31 at 8:30 am and will be completed June 1 at 8:30 am, said a statement by BMC.

Due to above said works, there will be no water supply to R/South Ward’s Kandivali (East) area, R/Central Ward’s Borivali (East) area, R/North Ward’s Dahisar (East) area and P/North Ward’s Malad (East) area.

The BMC has urged people to store water for daily use in advance and also use water judiciously during this period. If necessary, water tankers will be supplied by the Municipal Corporation to the affected areas. The BMC statement mentions that regular water supply will be resumed from June 1.
