In the last 24 hours, lakhs of water has been wasted as a water channel next to the railway line in the suburb of New Panvel has burst. Meanwhile, the water supply has been stopped in various suburbs of CIDCO for the past two days due to the repair work of Maharashtra Life Authority. Citizens are now expressing their anger as they are forced to buy sealed drinking water bottles.


A 1300 mm diameter water pipe of MJP near Panchsheel Nagar slum in Navin Panvel has burst, causing water flow in the area. The residents of these huts have been living in the water since Wednesday evening. The MJP administration took a 36-hour shutdown for two days, Monday and Tuesday, to carry out various repair works.

But it will take two more days to increase the water pressure in the water channel again. It was said that water will be supplied in CIDCO's Kalamboli, Navin Panvel, Kalundre, Karanjade, Khandeshwar Vasahat area till Thursday afternoon. However, water was supplied to the colonies only for a few minutes.
