The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a 12-hour water cut in some areas of suburbs in Mumbai starting tonight, October 17.
According to an official statement released by the civic body, it stated that the work of cross connection of newly laid 750 mm water main with existing 600 mm dia water main and fixing of 600 mm dia middle valve is to be undertaken at Marve road, Malvani Gate No.1, Opp Radhakrishna Hotel, Malad (W) on October 17, from 10:00 pm to 10:00 pm on October 18.
Therefore, citizens are requested to store enough water in advance as a precautionary measure and use water sparingly and co-operate with the BMC administration, officials added.
List of areas to face water cut:
There will be no water supply to areas in Malad (W) i.e. Madh, Malvani, Rathodi Village, Malvani Village, Kharodi Village, Patelwadi, Shankerwadi, Jankalyan Nagar, Manori, Borivali (W)i.e. Gorai & Kandivali (W) i.e. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Complex and New Mhada Layout.

In addition, Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) on Tuesday, October 18, has also notified about a 12-hours water in several areas under its jurisdiction.
This decision has been taken owing to repairing and maintenance work at electrical and mechanical equipments at 12th and Mohili Water Purification Center of KDMC.

As per the civic body’s statement, water supply will be stopped at Kalyan (West), Kalyan (East), Wadvali, Shahad and Titwala area.
Accordingly, the citizens of the said area should cooperate with the Municipal Corporation by storing water, officials further mentioned.
