Water supply in some parts of Kalyan-Dombivali will be impacted on Tuesday, August 24. The reason for the same is maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment will be carried out at Netivali and Mohili Water Treatment Plants of Kalyan-Dombivali Municipal Corporation.

Due to the maintenance work at both these sites, there will be no or limited water supply in Kalyan-Dombivali between 9 am to 9 pm. The Municipal Corporation has requested people to make adequate arrangements for Tuesday. They also requested people to use water sparingly during this time.

According to the corporation, the water supply in the following areas will be impacted - Dombivali East and West, Kalyan Rural and Kalyan West Bhoirwadi, Shahad, Rambagh, Chikanghar, Gholpanagar, Milindnagar, Yogidham, Murbad Road, Ashoknagar, Valdhuni, Shivajinagar, Joshibagh, Birla College to Khadakpada Road and Kalyan Station.

On August 3, a similar exercise was carried out by BMC. As a result, there was a 15 per cent water cut. At that time, The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced water cuts in several areas in the city including western suburbs and few areas of eastern suburbs. BMC had utilised this time to carry out repair works on pipelines distributing water to some areas of Mumbai. Therefore, residents of the concerned areas had to face water shortage and water cut for 14 hours, from 8.30 am to 10.30 pm.
