Water Supply resumes in Worli area after pipeline burst

Over the weekend, there were two pipelines burst incidents recorded in Mumbai. Despite, the pipe burst, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) ensured that the water supply in Worli area was not disrupted. Meanwhile, the water supply in Cheetah camp area has been affected and the civic body staff is fixing the same. 

The 57-inch-diameter main aqueduct of the Worli Hill reservoir on Dr E Musa Road near Worli Naka began leaking after the pipeline busts were reported on August 22. However, the BMC managed to carry out repair work on Ganeshotsav so that people don’t have issues with the water supply. 

The engineers and staff working at BMC’s water engineering department worked day and night to repair the damage caused by the pipeline bursts in Worli and Trombay area. The civic body managed to fix the problem in Worli or G South ward area while the same is ongoing in the Trombay area. 

The pipeline burst in the Trombay area caused a road to cave in and the BMC was indulged in fixing the issue as it has affected the water supply. The repair work in the Worli area was started as soon as the civic body received the information of pipeline burst.  

On Saturday, the repair worked was initiated and it was completed in the morning next day around 10:00 AM. The repair work was completed in a few hours without interrupting the water supply.

While BMC is working on fixing the pipe, Nawab Malik has also drawn the civic bodies attention to the condition of the road and requested them to intervene in this matter.
