The water pipeline burst due to the ongoing metro work in Dadar that led to the wastage of water. Almost, 1000 litres of water was wasted. In the month of June, a similar incident took place near Shiv Sena Bhavan where Metro work is in underway. However, the civic workers immediately closed the main valve and started the water supply from the alternative water pipeline.

Because of the alternative water supply, the residents of Dadar, Prabhadevi, Lower Parel, etc. will not face a water cut. However, in many areas, residents will face low water pressure.

Around 5:00 pm, an 18-inch of a water pipe burst out on Saturday evening when the work on the Gokhale road near Shivsena Bhavan in Dadar West was underway.

We have not closed the water supply but there will be a low water pressure,"  Ashok Khairnar, G-North's Assistant Commissioner

The work of the main water pipeline will now be done under the supervision of assistant engineer (waterworks and repair).
