Mankhurd- The metropolis may still lay claim to being the financial capital of India, but there are certain areas in Mumbai which continue to lack basic infrastructure facilities.
Jantanagar at Mankhurd is a case in point. The Ajmeri road here is in a decrepit condition. Being a kachcha road, it is difficult to walk on.The situation worsens in the monsoon. Despite frequent complaints, no action has been taken by the civic administration or the elected representatives. Since the road falls within the city collector's jurisdiction, the collectorate's permission is mandatory for undertaking repairs, says local corporator Shantaram Patil. Residents point out that the repairs could also be undertaken by local MLA Abu Azmi through his funds. Mumbai Live was unable to reach Azmi for his comment.
