Mumbai's Wilson College's principal has raised concerns over the Election Commission's (EC) office taking up a lot of space within its premises. The principal has raised concerns that this could affect the class 12 exams at the college. The principal has written a letter to the chief election commissioner regarding the matter.

The office of the Election Commission for 185 Malabar Hill constituency currently occupies five classrooms in the college. These classrooms belong to the Bachelor of Vocational Education department, the college hall, and the audio-visual room. This situation poses challenges, particularly for students with injuries, learning difficulties, or vision impairments during exams.

The principal has written a letter to the authorities. It highlights the heritage building's limited restroom facilities, which are inadequate for the 300-strong election office staff. The principal suggested a different location across the street.

With over a thousand students set to take exams soon, the principal talked about the disturbance caused by election duty personnel occupying common areas and restrooms. The principal proposed relocating the Election Commission office to Mackichan Hall, a nearby campus offering enough space, AC halls, classrooms, parking, and other safety measures.

In a report by HT, Mumbai City Collector Sanjay Yadav acknowledged receiving the principal's letter. He instructed the local election officer to talk about the matter with the college principal. Earlier, it was decided that the EC office will use the college-provided facility from March 15 through the exam period. This decision was taken by both parties after a meeting.
