Maharashtra: Wine Industry Promotion Scheme will be implemented for five years

In the cabinet meeting, it was decided to implement the Liquor Industry Promotion Scheme for five years in the interest of grape producing farmers of the state. The meeting was presided over by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. This scheme was stopped during the Covid period in 2020-21. Under this scheme, entrepreneurs have paid VAT in the years 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23.

There is very little time left for the end of the financial year 2023-24 and before the closure of the scheme, refund of VAT will also be given at the fixed rate of 16 percent. A scheme has been launched in the state to encourage grape growers to cultivate grapes, produce dry fruits and prepare alternative products for the wine industry.


Since this scheme will also be useful for the development of the wine industry in the state, it was decided to implement this scheme for 5 years.
