The highway was a risky route and was criticised by people. Due to which, the court had asked the authorities to deal with the problem as soon as possible.

Maharashtra government and the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) told Bombay High Court that the potholes on the Mumbai-Goa National highway will be fixed by September 5. The information was given by the bench of Justices A.S. Oak and Riyaz Chhagla who were heading the hearing regarding a PIL filed by a lawyer regarding the issue.

The Court has scheduled the next hearing for September 10 in order to realise whether both the institutions have conducted the work or not. For the past several years, the issue of Mumbai-Goa highway has bothered the people and created a lot of buzz.

Along with this, there have been several accidents on this route. The court took cognizance of the matter and reprimanded the state government.
