In the first semi-finals of MMPL 2018, Paradigm Borivali Warriors won the toss and decided to bat first. With the pressure to put a big score, Borivali Warriors started shakily, losing 3 wickets for 41 runs. But the 87 run stand between Lavesh Mehra and opener Shahen Mistry helped Borivali to reach the total of 186 runs.

In response, the openers of Shivaji Park Superstars put up an opening partnership of 71 runs. Amar Padhye looked good and had hit 10 fours and 3 sixes all around the ground. But Lavesh Mehra, the lucky lad of the day got him out and put Shivaji Park Superstars under pressure resulting in a loss by 33 runs.

Lavesh Mehra was adjudged the Man of the Match for his contribution of 41 runs with the bat and 2 wickets with the ball. With this victory, Borivali Warriors have qualified for the finals.
