A shocking incident has come to light in Navi Mumbai. As per the reports, a 15-year-old girl strangulated her 40-year-old mother to death with a karate belt. The girl had just passed her SSC exams last week. According to the police, the mother and daughter had a tiff over her studies.
Post the incident the girl allegedly tried to pass it off as a suicide. However, the autopsy report revealed that it was a murder.
The Police further revealed that the incident took place on July 30. Their investigation has revealed that there was an argument at home with the mother coaxing her daughter, who just cleared her SSC exams, to study well and take up a medical course, but the girl resented it and resorted to the extreme measure.
On July 30, the mother and the daughter had a tiff in regards to studies. During the fight, the daughter pushed her mother who fell on the floor and received serious trauma injuries. Post this, the girl allegedly choked her injured mother with a karate belt and dragged her body onto the bed.
To cover her tracks, the daughter sent out a message from her mother's mobile to her maternal uncle, claiming her mother locked herself inside the bedroom. She was trying to pass this act as a suicide.
Police have told the news agency that after a week of investigations and trying to win over the girl's confidence, a woman constable finally managed to get the daughter to confess to the crime.
The accused has been detained and will be produced before a Juvenile Board soon for further legal procedures.
This is not the first time this girl had an issue with her mother. Last month, she had approached the police to lodge a complaint against her mother.
