On Monday, June 17, late at night, a 17-year-old crashed his Toyota Innova Crysta into a mango tree on North Avenue Road in Santacruz, Mumbai. The collision led to the tree falling over.

The driver is the son of a banker. He was heading to his home in Firoshah Mehta Road when the accident occurred. The police have filed a complaint against the teenager. They took blood samples to find out if he was under the influence of alcohol.

According to the police, the boy lost control of the car, swerved onto the sidewalk, and hit the tree. Luckily, no one was nearby when the tree fell. The minor was taken to the police station.

He has been charged under several sections of the Motor Vehicles Act (MVA) and the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The teenager will be presented to the juvenile justice board.

The charges include rash driving (section 279), endangering life (section 336), causing mischief damage (section 427) of the IPC, and rash driving (section 184) of the MVA.

This incident follows a similar case in Pune a month ago, when a 17-year-old killed two young people in a high-speed crash involving a Porsche. It was later found out that the minor was intoxicated.
