Kamala Mills Fire: Police arrests both the managers of 1Above for investigation

Instead of saving the people and helping them during the critical condition, the staff including the managers - Kevin Bawa and Nilson Lopez - chose to escape, eventually leading to the loss of 14 lives


The police have arrested two men, supposedly managers, as mentioned in the report, in regards to a fire which recently broke out at Lower Parel's Kamla Mills compound. The level-II fire at 1 Above brought a change in the city, where Mumbai Police today, have taken the  Pub managers for further interrogation.

The two accused named Kevin Baba and Nilson Lopez will be present in the court today. Further, the main accused owners of the pub, Hitesh Sanghvi, Jigar Sanghvi and Abhishek Manaka haven't been taken into arrest yet by the police

Rather than saving people from the incident spot, the staff, after receiving information, chose to escape first, eventually leading to the loss of many lives. Both Kevin and Lopez were assigned the work at the restaurant as per the supervision ordered.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Deepak Devraj has confirmed their arrest, which happened at around 11:00 PM on December 31, 2017. Further information regarding the same is awaited.
