A 22-year-old woman was murdered by unknown people in Uran in Navi Mumbai and her remains were found dumped in bushes near the railway station late on Friday night. The police suspect that her boyfriend, who is currently absconding, killed her.


According to the police, the deceased girl lived with her family in Uran. She was working in a company in Belapur. When the family contacted her, she could not be contacted. The family then started searching for her and finally filed a missing report.

The police said they were informed that a woman's body was found in the bushes near the railway station at 2:00 am on Saturday. A team was dispatched to the spot and the remains were admitted to the hospital. The father of the dead girl told reporters that a man named Dawood Sheikh killed his daughter. The police have speculated that the murder was a result of a one-sided love affair. As per the police, they have suspected that the murder may have taken place around 3.30 or 4 pm on Thursday. They are also checking the CCTV footage to verify the facts.

Residents carried out long march  
Local residents carried out a march in protest of the murder and mutilation of the victim. The march started from Mahatma Gandhi statue at Full Market on July 28 at 10:00 am. Hundreds of citizens joined this march. Also, women were present in large numbers in this march. The march was held to demand the immediate arrest of the killers of the victim. On the other hand, a police team has gone to Karnataka and is searching for the accused.
